A Taste Of Israel’s Disobedience, In Worshipping Baal

1 Kings 16:29-33

In The Thirty-Eighth (38^th) Year of Asa, King of Judah, Ahab, The Son of Omri, became King over Israel; and Ahab, The Son of Omri, Reigned over Israel, in Samaria, Twenty-Two (22) Years.  Now Ahab, The Son of Omri, DID EVIL, in The Sight of The LORD (GOD Almighty), MORE THAN ALL, who were BEFORE Him (Ahab).  And it came to pass, as though it had been a TRIVIAL THING, for Him (Ahab), to walk in the sins of Jeroboam, The Son of Nebat, that He (Ahab) took as Wife, Jezebel, The Daughter of Ethbaal, King of The Sidonians; and He (Ahab) went and SERVED Baal and WORSHIPED him (Baal).  Then He (Ahab) SET UP an Altar for Baal, in The Temple of Baal, which He (Ahab) had BUILT in Samaria.  And Ahab MADE a Wooden Image.  Ahab did more to PROVOKE The LORD, GOD (GOD Almighty) of Israel to ANGER, than ALL The Kings of Israel, who were BEFORE Him (Ahab).

1 Kings 22:51-53

Ahaziah, The Son of Ahab, became King over Israel, in Samaria, in The Seventeenth (17^th) Year of Jehoshaphat, King of Judah, and Reigned Two Years over Israel.  He (Ahaziah) DID EVIL, in The Sight of The LORD (GOD Almighty), and walked in The Way of His (Ahaziah’s) Father (Ahab) and in The Way of His Mother and in The Way of Jeroboam, The Son of Nebat, who had MADE Israel sin; for He (Ahaziah) SERVED Baal and WORSHIPED him (Baal), and PROVOKED The LORD, GOD (GOD Almighty) of Israel to ANGER, according to all that His (Ahaziah’s) Father (Ahab) had done.

2 Kings 10:18-19, 25-28

Then Jehu gathered all The People together, and said to them (The People), “Ahab served Baal a little, Jehu will serve Him (Baal) much.  Now therefore, call to me (Jehu), All The Prophets of Baal, All His (Baal’s) Servants, and All His (Baal’s) Priests.  Let NO ONE be missing, for I (Jehu) have a Great Sacrifice for Baal.  Whoever is missing shall NOT live.”  But Jehu acted deceptively, with the Intent of DESTROYING The Worshipers of Baal.  Now it happened, as soon as He (Jehu) had made an end of offering, The Burnt Offering, that Jehu said to The Guard and to The Captains, “Go in and KILL Them (The Worshipers of Baal); let NO ONE come out!”  And They (The Guards and The Officers) KILLED Them (The Worshipers of Baal), with The Edge of The Sword; then The Guards and The Officers threw Them (The Worshipers of Baal) out, and went into The Inner Room of The Temple of Baal.  And They (The Guards and The Officers) BROUGHT The Sacred Pillars out of The Temple of Baal and BURNED Them (The Sacred Pillars).  Then They (The Guards and The Officers) BROKE DOWN, The Sacred Pillar of Baal, and TORE DOWN The Temple of Baal and MADE It (The Temple of Baal) a REFUSE DUMP to This Day.  Thus Jehu DESTROYED Baal from Israel.

2 Kings 17:13-18

Yet The LORD (GOD Almighty) TESTIFIED AGAIST Israel and AGAINST Judah, by All of His (GOD Almighty’s) Prophets, Every Seer, SAYING, “TURN from Your (Israel’s and Judah’s) Evil Ways, and KEEP MY (GOD Almighty’s) COMMANDMENTS and MY (GOD Almighty’s) STATUTES, according to All The Law, which I (GOD Almighty) COMMANDED Your (Israel’s and Judah’s) Fathers, and which I (GOD Almighty) SENT to YOU (Israel and Judah), by My (GOD Almighty’s) Servants, The Prophets.”  Nevertheless, They (Israel and Judah) would NOT HEAR, but Stiffened Their Necks, like The Necks of Their (Israel and Judah) Fathers, who did NOT BELIEVE in The LORD, Their (Israel’s and Judah’s) God (GOD Almighty).  And They (Israel and Judah) REJECTED HIS (GOD Almighty’s)  STATUTES and HIS (GOD Almighty’s) COVENANT, that He (GOD Almighty) had MADE with Their (Israel’s and Judah’s) Fathers, and HIS (GOD Almighty’s) TESTIMONIES, which He (GOD Almighty) had TESTIFIED AGAINST Them (Israel and Judah); They (Israel and Judah) FOLLOWED Idols, became IDOLATERS, and went after The Nations who were All Around Them (Israel and Judah), concerning whom The LORD (GOD Almighty) had CHARGED Them (Israel and Judah), that They (Israel and Judah) should NOT do like Them (The Nations All Around Them).  So, They (Israel and Judah) left All The COMMANDMENTS of The LORD, Their (Israel’s and Judah’s) GOD (GOD Almighty), MADE for Themselves (Israel and Judah), a Molded Image and Two Calves, MADE a Wooden Image and WORSHIPED All The Host of Heaven, and SERVED Baal.  And They (Israel and Judah) CAUSED Their (Israel’s and Judah’s) Sons and Daughters, to PASS THROUGH THE FIRE, PRACTICED Witchcraft and Soothsaying, and SOLD Themselves (Israel and Judah) to DO EVIL, in The Sight of The LORD (GOD Almighty), to PROVOKE Him (GOD Almighty) to ANGER.  Therefore, The LORD (GOD Almighty) was VERY ANGRY with Israel, and REMOVED Them (Israel), from HIS (GOD Almighty’s) SIGHT; there was NONE LEFT, but The Tribe of Judah ALONE.

2 Kings 21:1-6

Manasseh was Twelve (12) Years Old, when He (Manasseh) became King, and He (Manasseh) Reigned Fifty-Five (55) Years in Jerusalem.  His (Manasseh’s) Mother’s Name, was Hephzibah.  And He (Manasseh) DID EVIL, in The Sight of The LORD (GOD Almighty), according to The Abominations of The Nations, whom The LORD (GOD Almighty) had CAST OUT, before The Children of Israel.  For He (Manasseh) REBUILT The High Places, which Hezekiah, His (Manasseh’s) Father, had DESTROYED; He (Manasseh) RAISED UP Altars for Baal, and MADE a Wooden Image, as Ahab, King of Israel, had done; and He (Manasseh) WORSHIPED All The Host of Heaven and SERVED them.  He (Manasseh) also BUILT Altars, in The House of The LORD (GOD Almighty), of which The LORD (GOD Almighty) had SAID, “In Jerusalem, I (GOD Almighty) will PUT My (GOD Almighty’s) Name.”  And He (Manasseh) BUILT Altars for All The Host of Heaven, in The Two Courts of The House of The LORD (GOD Almighty).  Also, He (Manasseh) MADE His (Manasseh’s) Son, PASS THROUGH THE FIRE, PRACTICED Soothsaying, USED Witchcraft, and CONSULTED Spiritists, and Mediums.  He (Manasseh) DID MUCH EVIL, in The Sight of The LORD (GOD Almighty), to PROVOKE Him (GOD Almighty) to ANGER.

2 Chronicles 33:1-9

Manasseh was Twelve (12) Years Old, when He (Manasseh) became King, and He (Manasseh) Reigned Fifty-Five (55) Years in Jerusalem.  But He (Manasseh) DID EVIL, in The Sight of The LORD (GOD Almighty), according to The Abominations of The Nations, whom The LORD (GOD Almighty) had CAST OUT, before The Children of Israel.  For He (Manasseh) REBUILT The High Places, which Hezekiah, His (Manasseh’s) Father, had BROKEN DOWN; He (Manasseh) RAISED UP Altars for The Baals, and MADE Wooden Images; and He (Manasseh) WORSHIPED All The Host of Heaven and SERVED them.  He (Manasseh) also BUILT Altars, in The House of The LORD (GOD Almighty), of which The LORD (GOD Almighty) had SAID, “In Jerusalem shall My (GOD Almighty’s) Name be, Forever.”  And He (Manasseh) BUILT Altars for All The Host of Heaven, in The Two Courts of The House of The LORD (GOD Almighty).  Also, He (Manasseh) CAUSED His (Manasseh’s) Sons to PASS THROUGH THE FIRE, in The Valley of The Son of Hinnom; He (Manasseh) PRACTICED Soothsaying, USED Witchcraft and Sorcery, and CONSULTED Mediums and Spiritists.  He (Manasseh) DID MUCH EVIL, in The Sight of The LORD (GOD Almighty), to PROVOKE Him (GOD Almighty) to ANGER.

Fellow Believers, these Scriptures give Us (Believers) an idea, of how The Children of Israel, STOPPED Worshipping GOD Almighty, to SERVE Baal.  We (Believers) are hearing about Baal and The Temple of Baal, in Our Current News, so I thought it might help, to give Us (Believers) a taste of where worshipping Baal, appears in The Holy Bible.  I have NOT included every Scripture, because it would be a very lengthy read.  Enjoy.
